hey betsy boo boo---have i told you about the Yarn Sbop in the City Market?? here is the website-http://www.cricketcove.com/index.htm the woman who owns it [her name is Donna} is sponsoring a Knitting Retreat in St Andrews by the Sea----it's up the road from Margo's {formerly mom's} cottage---her shop in the market is gorgeous-=i will take a pic and send it to you---she has three shops--one in Black's Harbour,one in St Andrew's and one here in Saint John---i wish i liked knitting---i may take one of her courses in the winter--she teaches classes in the market.My sister Margo is an avid knitter---she made about a hundred of those expensive scarves last fall.ANYway---those sox are adorable---i saw some cute lupine ones in Donna's store the other day---------------i actually bought you a skein of pretty yarn in Nova Scotia but it's not big enough to make anything much!!!--too bad you don't live up north--everyone knits mittens like crazy---see you at tanks are us.oxoxoxxo mari-cow
Yulle, the cutie pictured in the last post, brought these socks to me from Chile where they were hand knit. You can see there's a seam up the side and the ribbing at the top is so interesting. They did k1p1 to the bottom of the band THEN knit the knit/pearl stitches together but knit 2 stitches out of them so there's the same number of stitches. It makes a nice little lacey effect. I would show a close up but the camera batteries died ... I LOVE the llamas.
