One of the socks for my yoga teacher is finished and the other is half done. Working with bigger yarn on bigger needles sure speeds things up.

I'm ribbing these k4p1 all the way down. I have doubts they'll stay up and I'll like them anyway, I think. If anyone knows that yarn this is, please tell me. I think it's an old Opal but can't find it anywhere.

I had two hours of comp time to use this morning and it was WONDERFUL to go to work late. I had a chest delivered to replace the defective one I bought in December. Then I finished these socks and mailed them to Kath who lives in a small place with a huge Indian name. Then ... all relaxed I went to work.

Once at work, I learned that the teacher of three-year-olds quit. I like her and will miss her but it didn't concern me that much. Until. Later, I was told that she had been paid her two weeks notice and told to go home. I will be replacing her, I learned. No longer am I relaxed. This is supposed to last only two weeks but you know how that goes.

The next pair of socks I finish will be sent to Kath the Sailor Woman. Meantime, I'm also knitting Fortissima 6-ply on size 2 needles for my amazing son:

And Lorna's Laces New Town Shepherd Socks for my yoga genius teacher:

And I think these are Opal .. for me:

These will also be for me. Right now they're in baby stage. Pretty cotton colors.

And theeeese are marianne's feet in her hand knit Opal socks. When in New Brunswick, please drop in her shop and spend your Yankee dollars.

On Saturday, I mailed these socks to California by regular mail. Not 2-day mail, not priority, not express, not any words like that. My clever friend snatched them out of the postal system on Monday. How'd she do that? I did send them from a UPS office but was under the impression they were being mailed USPS. Even so, this is fast.

Finished the Trekking socks in the colorway Autumn. I think it should be called Painted Desert. One sock turned out a little bigger than the other which is embarrassing. If they were for me, I wouldn't mind at all as once they're on feet, they stretch out to fit so I'm hoping the recipient feels the same way.

They're shownn next to a lovely handmade bowl that my son brought me for Christmas.
